I got both the physical copy and the digital. I love the physical copy because it's a tiny book, perfect for when you want to play when traveling. It's got everything you need to have a romantic evening. You do need some dices, but I noticed they have that, too!
D8 Night is a well put together little adventure which is straightforward enough for an inexperienced DnD-er to run. My partner DMs regularly and it gave her a nice opportunity to relax and roll dice.
Read through it, haven't played it yet. Well actually... I tried DMing with ChatGPT as the player just to get a sense of the flow... it was decent at roleplay but not very creative in finding solutions. I look forward to running this with an actual human as the player who might pick up better on hints towards other available actions.
The four tasks were interesting and each distinct from each other... I would have appreciated more background story for Anterosa to help with roleplaying. Thematically, being the god of requited love didn't fully dovetail with the story arc or suggested dialogue. I suppose I can elaborate on it on my own, but I would have preferred more guidance. What is Anterosa's interest in the player? Is there supposed to be romantic tension between them? The endings too disappointed somewhat as these questions are not answered.
Overall it's still a well designed adventure and well worth the price. If I can update this review later (after running it with my partner) I will.
